Day 1 GYMPIE TO O’REILLY’S

This morning we depart for our 6 day Christmas holiday to the naturally beautiful O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat in the Lamington National Park. We will depart from Gympie and travel south along the Sunshine Coast to Brisbane where we will join the Pacific Motorway and continue to Yatala (Beenleigh) for our lunch stop. After lunch we will continue to wind our way up to Lamington National Park. Arriving at O'Reilly's rainforest Retreat we will check into our beautiful Mountain View rooms, home for the next five nights. We will have time to freshen up from our journey and at 2 o'clock we join our guide for a leisurely afternoon rainforest walk. We will meet in the bar for happy hour this evening then adjourn into the restaurant for dinner. After dinner we will once again meet one of O'Reilly's experienced guides for a tour to the Glow Worm Grotto and Nocturnal spotlighting where we might get to see some of the area's more elusive mammals. Day 2 O’REILLY’S

For the early risers this morning we meet at the front entrance before breakfast for a guided bird walk, where we have the opportunity to meet some of O'Reilly's more curious residents, afterwards joining the rest of the group in the restaurant for breakfast. After breakfast we board O'Reilly's custom-built 4WD bus for a tour to one of the nearby lookouts, with billy tea and damper served along the way. We arrive back at the lodge for lunch with some free time in the afternoon to relax and enjoy the resort facilities, or take yourself on one of the many self-guided walks surrounding the property. We meet in the bar for happy hour this evening before enjoying our evening meal in the restaurant. After dinner we have a special treat - a guest house history and Stinson slide presentation hosted by a member of the O'Reilly family. A perfect way to end the day. (B L D)
Day 3 CHRISTMAS DAY

Christmas Day! We have a leisurely start this morning with breakfast in the restaurant followed by a stroll along the tree top walk. We will meet in the restaurant for lunch, it will be the Christmas fare with all the trimmings you would expect to make this a memorable event. Our afternoon is spent relaxing or taking a stroll around this beautiful area. (B HL D)
Day 4 GOLD COAST HINTERLAND

This morning after an early breakfast we board the coach for a day trip to Tweed Heads. At the Tweed Marina we board the Tweed Endeavour for a cruise of the Tweed River and Terranora Inlet, including morning tea and historical commentary. After our cruise we travel to Mount Warning National Park and have our picnic lunches. We travel back to the retreat on Nerang-Marwillumbah Road with views of Springbrook and Lamington National Parks. We will meet in the bar for happy hour before dinner in the restaurant. After dinner we will make ourselves comfortable in the theatrette and enjoy one of O'Reilly's fascinating documentaries. (B L D)

For those who wish to, you can join another early morning bird walk before joining the group in the dining room for breakfast. After breakfast we will join another one of O'Reilly's exciting 4WD bus tours with morning tea served along the way. We will be back at the Retreat for lunch before witnessing the Birds of Prey show. Meeting for happy hour again in the bar we will then enjoy our final nights dinner in the restaurant. (B L D)
Day 6 O’REILLY’S TO GYMPIE

We have a leisurely start this morning, and after breakfast you will have time to relax and gather your things for check out. We depart from O'Reilly's before lunch and travel a little way down the mountain to O'Reilly's Canungra Valley Vineyard for lunch and a wine tasting. Set on 15 beautiful acres, the vineyard consists of around 4,000 vines of primarily Chambourcin and Semillon grape. Afterwards we re-board the coach and set our sights for home, farewelling old and new friends. We will arrive back in Gympie mid-afternoon, refreshed and relaxed after a wonderful Christmas holiday.
